Counselling and Therapy Online and in Barnet, Hertfordshire

Counselling and Therapy Online and in High Barnet.

We all experience difficulties at certain times in our lives, whether it’s facing up to loss, bereavement, life changes and challenges or a relationship breakdown. Or you realise you’re just not feeling ‘yourself’ and could be experiencing low mood, anxiety or depression. Perhaps life just isn’t shaping up in the way you’d planned. Counselling could be all you need to work through these difficult feelings and get you back on the right track.

Therapy can help you to work out what might be causing you to feel this way, to make sense of past and present challenges and to bring into focus a clearer sense of yourself and how you relate to the world around you. The aim is to have more understanding of yourself and therefore to feel stronger and more able to cope.

I can work with difficulties including issues relating to :

• anxiety
• depression
• feeling sad
• life stage challenges
• relationship difficulties
• family issues
• bereavement
• low self-esteem
• stress

During our first meeting we can look at what you feel your needs are and the areas in which you want to look at and work through. We can then discuss what’s best for you in terms of length of therapy, be it an agreed number of sessions, or longer-term open-ended therapy. We’ll set a regular day and time to meet each week, and also make a plan for regularly reviewing our work together.

Right now, I'm only delivering counselling online via webcam, email or IM. I gained a Diploma in Online Counselling in order that I am able to ethically deliver counselling sessions online, and am a member of ACTO - Association of Counsellors and Therapists Online. Working online is undoubtedly different to face to face work, but I find that it's as effective and indeed, can be far more convenient for clients who are in other parts of the country, have trouble getting out and about, or who just need the flexibility of accessing online to fit in with their lives.

Before Covid and at come point in the future, I work from my counselling room in High Barnet, Hertfordshire, about a seven minute walk from High Barnet Northern Line tube. If you're driving, there's parking available. Counselling with me online or in High Barnet could be the first step to help you regain control over your life and get you back on the right track.

'Thank you for all your help in "winding up my clock!". I feel much more prepared to deal with whatever the future holds and to find joy and acceptance'.

'I cannot thank you enough for all that you've done for me over these past few months. You've helped me achieve the impossible and opened my eyes to so much about myself that I was blind to before. You might think it's just your job ..... but it seems not many people are as supportive or considerate as you have been with me. It's such an amazing thing that you do to help people like me..... I'm confident that the future looks fantastic for me. I'm determined to live my life to the fullest, free from shame!'

'I can't thank you enough for these last 12 sessions. Thank you for giving me a space to talk about things I struggle with, for never making me feel silly for feeling the way I do and helping me work through my fears and anxieties. I've noticed a real change in my self over these last few months and I'm really grateful for your role in that.'

'Thank you for being so patient with me through my ups and downs. I won't forget your final words. Today, I feel more hopeful that the peace you wished for me is actually possible. As for the warmth, I felt that from your end too. Thank you for everything. The world is a better place because of people like you: one session at a time.'

'Thank you so much for our sessions - I'm sure you have seen the difference you have made to me and my life. I cannot thank you enough or adequently put into words how much it has meant to me. I think the counselling world is lucky to have you.'
